I Present You My Blog: Oriental Dance With Attitude!
I start the year 2021 materializing a goal I have for 5 years: the release of my Blog.
One of my main goals as an Oriental Dance artist and one of the main reasons why I abandoned my career in Management, was to contribute the maximum and the best I could to the disclosure, dignification and development of the art of Oriental Dance. Therefore, it becomes imperative to make more information available about this beautiful unknown art, so that the people who are interested, and amateur and professional dancers discover and get to know it better. And because of this emerged, finally, the “Oriental Dance with Attitude” Blog.
The name is simple and it was created together with my student, assistant and friend Rita Pereira, who, everytime she thinks about my teaching, just like all of her colleagues, thinks immediately of the word “Attitude” – since I say it times and times again in my classes - and how proud I am of that. Dance and Life without attitude, don’t reach their peak and I want to be a promoter of the celebration of life, promoter of attitude, of confidence, of genuineness and of freedom of expression. Attitude is not being afraid; is having the courage to show oneself without worries, without filters. I dream about developing students and human beings with attitude, with determination, courage and emotion.
On this blog, I intend to share with you informations about Arabic Dance - its origin and history, details on musical styles, dancers and singers of reference and many other topics - just like I will also give you several tips to develop your dance, your teaching and your business in Bellydance. Besides, I am having special guests from inside (and out!) the world of Bellydance who will share their experience and knowledge about different themes connected to the Belly Dance practice and useful tips for students and people who are interested in this art. This month, I will share with you two articles written by two special guests, stay tunned!
As you can see, my goal with this blog is big and finally it has been released and is available to the world. I sincerely hope this blog contributes to more people becoming acquainted with this art form, being informed about it and evolved. It is necessary to erase the prejudice that exists about the Oriental Dance art, as well as develop it so that it gets to the same level as other performative arts.
If you’re with me in this mission and you like what I write, share some of my posts so that we reach even more people. I hope you’re so excited for the release of the upcoming blog posts as I am. See you!
